Abstract

The dissemination of knowledge produced is a requirement of the scientific method, which demands public validation from the scientific community. Therefore, it has become an institutional requirement. Since the creation of the printing press, the written dissemination of knowledge has undergone significant historical evolution. Undoubtedly, the book, in paper format and with a single author, has dominated this evolution, but notable changes have taken place in the last century. The emergence of scientific journals as a means of dissemination has taken priority. Within this trend, psychology and the social sciences in general present distinctive characteristics, which we will examine in this article.
The Network of Editors of Argentine Psychology Journals has compiled a list of these publications, which is available on the association's website and has served as a reference for this proposal. In this sense, this list can be considered a complement to the previous one, with some additions that we believe expand the information.
