In recent years, there has been a substantial change in the identification of specific learning difficulties (SLD). The traditional model, based on waiting for failure, has been replaced by a preventive model called the Response to Intervention Model (RTI). The book Intervention Response Model: a preventive approach to addressing specific learning difficulties, written by Juan E. Jiménez, offers an overview of this approach that allows us to identify those students at greatest risk of presenting AED and provide them with the necessary support.
