Abstract

As part of the ongoing renewal of Trinitarian theology, the Lutheran theologian W. Pannenberg is an emblematic figure. The present contribution provides an overview of two “Predigten” about the Trinity, the only two liturgical conversations published by the author on the subject. The first, in 1969, is discussed in close connection with the second one writen in 1998. The temporal arc between the two of them, the literary genre and the thematic conection, conform an access to Pannenbergs pastoral and spiritual Trinitarian theology. This access is ‘novel’ because of the scant attention given to these texts in the secondary literature referred to the case. In the author’s view, the threat posed in the minds of current faith wich involves identifying God with our representations, most often not trinitarian, the eschatological imprint in divine revelation in the Judeo-Christian tradition and the corresponding historical problem of the reality of God, are presented along the article. To this must be added the anthropological roots of religiosity, the value of a Trinitarian theology of Pauline outage, and the richness of cristianity’s “Trinitarian Mysticism”.
