Abstract

This article reflects on the question about God in the perspective of theology and the loci theologici, within the framework of the apostolic exhortation Evangelii gaudium by Pope Francis, emphasizing the concept of popular religiosity as locus theologicus in Latin America. The first part presents the theology and the loci theologici that preceded and prepared the II Vatican Council. The second part exposes the loci theologici in the Council itself considering that, although the Church is in the world of today and tomorrow, as Card. Kasper says, her strength does not come from the world but from her being the Church of Christ. The third and last part develops the challenge of the evangelization of popular religiosity in the context of postmodern-modern culture.
