In 1767 Carlos III decided to expel from the territories of the Crown the members of the Company of Jesus. Among the testimonials written by the sons of Ignatius in these circumstances is Fr. José Manuel Peramás‟ diary, called the Annus Patiens… From theories of intertextuality (specifically of quotations), we will study the use of Latin authors, specifically Virgil‟s, who lends his words for the narratio of exile, urban description, etc. These mechanisms, which control possible readings, are also a powerful operator that links the voices of tradition with the construction of a writing space and validates the new text, demonstrating the competence of the user of this practice. Thhe evaluation of Virgilian quotations reveals a triple repertoire: functional-authorized, ornamentation, and memorization.Downloads
