In the present work the figure of Pierre Bersuire (1290-1362) is studied in correspondence with the reception and the transmission of Livy’s History of Rome and Ovid’s Metamorphosesin the Iberian Peninsula. Particular attention is paid to Pero López de Ayala's translation of the first work from the French version by Bersuire (ca. 1358), as well as to the Morales de Ovidio, 15th century “romanceamiento” attributed to Alfonso Gómez de Zamora of the Ovidius Moralizatus, an allegorical commentary of the Metamorphoses, that forms part of Reductorium morale written by the french monk.Downloads
