Abstract

The purpose of this communication is to address the dimension of pain in the Hesiodic universe. We think the dimension of pain as one of the extreme situations of which K. Jaspers speaks to review the origins of philosophy. From this scheme of reflection we want to emphasize, as a didactic element, the dimension of pain in Hesiod.

The relation injustice-pain, ethos-pain, hunger-pain, corruption-pain, punishment-pain, hubris-pain, ignorance-pain and horror-pain, will be some of the dyads that we will analyze to relieve the marks of regret in Works and Days, starting from the idea that the very condition of the human being implies pain as an inscription of their ontological precariousness.
