CLEANTES Y EL ESTILO POÉTICO: RELEVANCIA DEL LENGUAJE COLOQUIAL Y RESIGNIFICACIÓN DE LAS CREENCIAS POPULARES
Keywords:
Cleanthes, Stoics, poetry, language.Abstract
The present paper proposes to analyze the role assigned by the Stoic philosopher Cleanthes to the poetic style. Specifically, my initial objective will be to evaluate the relevance of poetry in the Stoic philosophical curriculum, which aims to the conquest of a virtuous life. In a second moment, I will interpret the characterization of the poem in the light of its logical aspects; which will involve an analysis referring to the Stoic conception of language. Finally, my aim will be to evaluate in what sense Cleanthes, through his theoretical production and putting into practice the poetic style, has been able to rescue colloquial language and has resignified certain popular (religious) beliefs.
