En 1921 fue publicado El análisis de la mente del filósofo inglés Bertrand Russell, obra concebida a pocos años de que John B. Watson definiera a la nueva orientación conocida como conductismo. En el libro, Russell emprendía una discusión sobre algunos de los conceptos centrales propuestos por Watson, poniéndolos en relación con otros tópicos de interés dentro de su propia aproximación filosófica y psicológica, como el problema de la conciencia y la teoría de los deseos. La obra de Russell significó un respaldo importante para el conductismo emergente. A un siglo de su publicación, este artículo evalúa su importancia general en la historia de la psicología y el conductismo. Igualmente, se analiza la manera en que Russell conceptualizó los aspectos principales de la teoría conductual. El artículo posee un carácter teórico y de revisión, sustentado en una utilización pertinente de las fuentes primarias atinentes al tema.
