La Pandemia del COVID-19 y el Estudio del Comportamiento Suicida: Análisis de Publicaciones Científicas

Además del reto sanitario generado por la presencia de COVID-19, la precaria salud mental de muchas personas previo a la pandemia, junto las condiciones de incertidumbre, aislamiento y complicaciones biopsicosociales aumentaron el riesgo de presentar alteraciones en todas las esferas. Dado que la salud mental es especialmente sensible a los elevados niveles de estrés y al desajuste social, en consecuencia, puede incrementar la incidencia de ideación y conductas suicidas, la cual es una de las principales causas de muerte con devastadores costos emocionales y sociales. El objetivo de este estudio fue realizar una revisión sistemática de la literatura sobre el suicidio durante la pandemia por coronavirus 2019. Los resultados señalan la necesidad de orientar las políticas de salud pública hacia estrategias de prevención del suicidio basadas en evidencia con disponibilidad para personas con tendencias suicidas.
