Abstract

Ambassador Ricardo Scavone Yegros is a lawyer from the Catholic University of Asuncion and an official of the Diplomatic Service of the Republic of Paraguay since 1993. He has served in the Embassies of his country in Bolivia, Chile, Mexico and Peru, and in the Permanent Representation to ALADI and Mercosur. He was Ambassador to Colombia (2013-2018) and, concurrently, to El Salvador (2015-2018). He held various positions in the Paraguayan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and currently serves as President of the National Boundary Demarcation Commission.
He is also a full member of the Paraguayan Academy of History and a corresponding member of the Academies of History of Argentina, Colombia, Spain, Bolivia and the Dominican Republic and of the Historical and Geographic Institute of Brazil. She has published the following books: Las relaciones entre el Paraguay y Bolivia en el siglo XIX (2004); Historia de las Relaciones Internacionales del Paraguay (2010, in collaboration with Liliana M. Brezzo); Gregorio Benites, a diplomat from old Paraguay (2011); La Declaración de la Independencia del Paraguay (2011); Después de la Guerra: Las relaciones paraguayo-bolivianas desde el Tratado de Paz hasta 1952 (2013); and Benjamín Aceval (2013).
