Abstract

This article focuses on other Celestinas, following the original one, flourishing, not to say swarming, in the pages of books in prose, in the verses of poems, and in the early pre-lopescos stages of the sixteenth century. All they intend to be a kind of ‘alter ego’ of the most unforgettable go-between of Spanish letters. Some share her name and others do not, but most importantly they are figures born in other creative minds that have invented other destinations for their go-betweens, called Celestina’s “prole” in the title of a fascinating book by Roberto González Echevarría. My purpose is not limited to cite authors and works, but I want to comment texts with the idea of showing once again the unlimited power of the original work to inspire and generate new facets of Celestina seen by new creators.
