Early Hispano-Romance Literature: the Gloss Conoajutorio of the Codex Aemilianensis 60
Keywords:

In view of the fact that Dámaso Alonso referred to Gloss 89 (“conoajutorio...”), f. 72r of the Codex Aemilianensis number 60 as a “cry of a newborn” Spanish language and that he acknowledged its prayer nature and stated that the text “almost has a literary structure already”, the purpose of this paper is to show that, bearing in mind philological, linguistic, rhetorical, literary and doctrinal aspects, this text does not only surpass its character as a gloss and formulary expression but it is a perfect literary work in both form and sense.Downloads
