Since Jaume I conquered Valencia a native nobility appeared and the process of feudalization of the kingdom developed. Martin el Humano’s death without successor and the election in the Compromiso de Caspe of Fernando I involved the arrival of the Trastamaras to the throne of the Crown of Aragon and with them a new nobility of Castilian origin, linked to Alfonso V and Juan II. One of these families was the Rebolledo, whose services to the Crown were gifted with a variety of concessions, from manors to different rents. The region of La Marina and the town of Alicante were the epicentre of their economic power. Today, the township of El Rebolledo, remains as testimony of its medieval originsDownloads
