Abstract

The present work intends to make a contribution in the study of the presages of power that Appian indicated for the founder of the Seleucid Dinasty. For this purpose, we will enunciate these omens, and analyze them according to the symbology that they implicated, with the intention of enlight the legitimating function of Seleucus power and the roman greatness, having late conquered his territories
