Abstract

The article analyzes Juan Bautista Alberdi’s thought about businessmen’s role in society. This ideas had been referred in the biography he wrote about William Wheelwright –an entrepreneur who created many companies in South America–. Thus, the authors focus on Alberdi’s ideas about businessmen, who –according to him– are heroes and progress makers as they mobilize financial resources for economic development.
