The present work aims to conduct a historical and ethical analysis of the events that motivated the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith to draft the Declaration on Procured Abortion in 1974, evaluating its historical and geopolitical context. Additionally, we will provide information about the authorship of the document, followed by a review and interpretation of its content. To conclude, it is deemed relevant to present a recent, real clinical case for analysis and interpretation, relating it to the themes described in the Declaration and the prevailing laws.
